On the visit of representatives of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo at the the premises of the Bank of Albania

On 5 July 2024, some representatives from the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo headed by the Chief of the Audit Committee Mrs. Nora Latifi Jashari and other senior members of internal audit paid a work visit at the premises of the Bank of Albania.               

The delegation held special working meetings and discussions with the Inspector General of the Bank of Albania, Mrs. Merita Bejtja, member of the Supervisory Council and at the same time Chief of the Audit Committee of the Bank of Albania,  Mrs.Suela Popa as well as other representatives from the Bank of Albania.

This meeting, organized at the request of CBK representatives, was held with the aim of exchanging experiences between the two institutions as well as deepening cooperation in the field of internal audit.

Some of the main topics discussed during the meeting were the role of the Audit Committee in the institution of the Central Bank and its importance in ensuring the independence of the Internal Audit; Internal Audit as an important step in the assessment of the institution's control system, internal audit policy and international standards implemented in the achievement of objectives; the Operational Risk Administration unit for risk management as well as its cooperation with the Internal Audit.

The Bank of Albania remains deeply committed to support with all its capacities the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo in facing of all challenges within the framework of the European integration processes and to offer its assistance in every field that will be necessary.
