On 4 December 2024, the Supervisory Council of the Bank of Albania reviewed and decided to:

Re-mint the 5 lek and 10 lek coin, legal tender.

This Decision provides the re-minting of the 5 lek and 10 lek coin, legal tender, in order to fulfil the cash demand of the economy, in value and structure, as well as ensure their regular supply for an extended period of time.
